Purchasing Associate

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Associate to join our team. The Purchasing Associate will play a key role in processing purchase orders, maintaining vendor records, and maintaining inventory management. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem solving.


Candidates should have the following minimum experience:

  • High School diploma required
  • 1 year exp preferred in purchasing
  • 1 year exp preferred in the knowledge and basic principles of inventory management
  • Applicants with previous experience in flooring and/or building materials a plus
Qualifications:
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Outlook Proficiency
  • Highly detail-oriented, well-organized, and committed to driving results
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly analytical problem solver
  • Ability to apply knowledge of purchasing and inventory management to real-world situations
  • Familiarity with supply chain processes (i.e., inventory planning, warehouse management
  • Ability to handle high volume during peak demand times

 Responsibilities:

  • Generate and process purchase orders accurately and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures,
  • Coordinate and confirm purchase requirements, specifications, and delivery schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed.
  • Review and analyze suppliers, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Evaluate alternative sourcing options and recommend strategies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities. vendor performance, and cost-saving initiatives to management as required.
  • Follow up with all back orders, salespeople requests, pricing, and lead times.
  • Input, update, maintain product details and track shipments in our database.

 

Hours: M-F 8;30 am to 5:00 pm

Pay based upon experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
