Pre-Template Checklist

Cabinets & Supports

1) All cabinets, panels, and trim completely installed and secured in their final resting place.

2) Cabinets must be level or in place with deviation no greater than 1/8" in 10ft.

3) Existing countertops must be removed (if applicable)

If Tile Market of Delaware is removing existing counters:

  • Customer must sign Counter Removal Form
  • Countertops must be cleared off
  • All applicable plumbing, electrical, and gas must be disconnected by others
  • Base cabinets must be emptied

4) All overhangs and open areas must be properly supported per industry standards. Supports need to be installed prior to template. This also includes supports behind dishwashers and slide-in ranges. 2/3rds of the countertop must be supported by cabinets, walls, etc.

Maximum unsupported overhangs are as follows:

  • Granite/Quartzite = 10"
  • Marble/Travertine/Limestone = 6"
  • Quartz Products = 12"

5) If you are keeping an existing backsplash, be aware there will be a gap between the tile and the new countertop due to the material thickness difference. Laminate and solid surface countertops are 1.5" thick and natural stone/quartz countertops are 1.125" thick. This will create an approximate 0.375" gap. Tile Market of Delaware is not responsible for grouting this gap.

Sinks, Faucets, & Cooking Appliances

6) All sinks, faucets, misc. drilling, cooking appliances, and any other appliance that will be mounted to the countertop must be on-site.

7) Farm or Apron style sinks must be permanently installed into the cabinet prior to template.

8) Cooking appliances need to be on-site but not in place.

9) Manufacturer and model number of all appliances should be supplied to Tile Market of Delaware prior to template.

Job Site Conditions

10) Customer or representative must be present during template to review all specifications. If no one is present I understand that my project will be put on hold until all specifications and drawings are approved via shop drawings and this may delay the install date.

11) Access to project area must be clear and free of debris.

12) Electric must be on.

Notes:

Prior to template, all material and edge selections should be finalized. The quote, slab approval, and any other applicable forms should be signed, as well as deposit paid.

Final pricing will be based on template specification, and could differ from the original quote. If any changes are necessary, you will be contacted by your job coordinator with a written change order the following morning. Your project will be placed on hold until all necessary paperwork is signed and returned. This could delay your install date.
